Fiona Kidman documentary screens at New Zealand International Film Festival

A film which holds the camera up to the life and writing work of Aotearoa literary luminary Dame Fiona Kidman has been selected to screen at the New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) this month.
The House Within by filmmaker Joshua Prendeville captures Kidman’s life and work, showing viewers a vocational life lived with conviction—and punctuated by loss. The film captures Kidman’s sense that words have the power to inspire change.
‘Fiona has spent her life standing up for the rights of others, and carving out a space for herself in industries where she was often the only woman in the room. The House Within shines a long overdue light on one of our country’s most inspiring artistic figures and the fearless determination required to write the novels which have had such a lasting impact on our cultural identity,’ says Joshua.
While tickets to The House Within's Wellington premiere are now sold out, tickets for Auckland and Christchurch are still available. Joshua says he is working to add new screening dates for Wellington audiences.
