Poetry Box challenge: Inside a box

Posted: Tuesday Sep 17, 2024

Deadline: Saturday 21st September

An Inside the Box poem challenge

This challenge is inspired by a picture book I will share with your soon!

I love keeping treasures in boxes. I love getting boxes in the post.

I love how our cat Agile used to love hiding in boxes, even with oranges and lemons!

I love how some boxes look special - hand-carved and wooden or made of coloured glass and shiny.

I love how a poem is a bit like a box that you open to discover what is in it - so yes, I love getting your poems in my email box!

Use your imagination to write a poem about what is inside a box or tin.

Or base your poem on a real box or tin in which you or someone else stores something.

Your poem can unfold in any way you like.

Hunt for some strong descriptive words.

Listen to how your poem flows.

Test three different endings, then pick your favourite.

Send to: paulajoygreen@gmail.com
Include: your name, age, year, name of school
Deadline: Saturday 21st September
Don't forget: to include BOX poem in email subject line

I will post some favourite poems on Wednesday 25th September and have some books to give away.
