University welcomes this year's arts fellows

All smiles at a welcome ceremony in Dunedin this week for the University of Otago's 2019 Arts Fellows are (from left) Caroline Plummer Fellow in Community Dance Antonio Ssebuuma, Robert Burns Fellow Emily Duncan, Mozart Fellow Dylan Lardelli, College of Education/Creative New Zealand Children's Writer in Residence Fifi Colston and Frances Hodgkins Fellow Imogen Taylor.
Mr Ssebuuma is an award-winning performer, social entrepreneur, dance choreographer and teacher based in Kampala, Uganda.
The Robert Burns Fellow is Dunedin-based playwright, dramaturg and director Ms Duncan.
Mozart Fellow Mr Lardelli has had his music commissioned and performed worldwide by musicians from the New Zealand String Quartet to the Forbidden City Chamber Orchestra in Beijing.
Ms Colston is an award-winning junior fiction novelist, a children's book illustrator of more than 30 titles, a poet and a long-standing television presenter of arts and crafts.
Frances Hodgkins Fellow Imogen Taylor's paintings ``explore art herstory [history written from a feminist perspective] through reclamation of modernist tropes'', according to a biography provided by the university. She has mostly lived and worked in Auckland.
