Calling all young writers!

It's that time again! Entries for the 2025 Landfall Young Writers' Essay Competition are open - Entries close 31 March 2025

Anyone in Aotearoa aged 16–25 can enter. Entries will be judged by Landfall editor, Lynley Edmeades. The winner will receive $500 and a year's subscription to Landfall, which will include their milestone 250th issue

The winning essay will also be published in Landfall 249: Autumn 2025, which will come out in May 2025.

Summer is the perfect time to start writing!
