Article from Utrecht City of Literature:
It is time for the newest part of our cities of literature chain poem!
Annie Villiers from City of Literature Dunedin, New Zealand added three lines to the growing poem.
Annie Villiers lives and works between Dunedin and Central Otago, on the beautiful South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. She is deeply committed to Dunedin’s literary community; not only as a poet and writer, but also through her involvement in various literature related projects. She is on the board of the historical Dunedin Athenaeum & Mechanics’ Institute. She is also a trustee of the Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival. Annie has had work published in various magazines and literary publications. In collaboration with local artist John Z Robinson, she has also published two poetry volumes. Her passion and inspiration is the landscape of her home island, although she has travelled and lived in many other parts of the world. If she didn’t live where she does, she would probably live on the island of Crete, in Greece.

To celebrate World Poetry Day Utrecht UNESCO City of Literature started an international chain poem on 21 March 2021. Local poet Yentl van Stokkum wrote the first three lines of verse, that were translated into English by Mia You. Every month a poet and translator from one of the 39 UNESCO Cities of Literature add a new verse. You can read the lines by the previous poets here: https://www.cityofliterature.nl/.../cities-of-literature.../
