Creative Cities Southern Hui warmly welcomes SUE BIDROSE as delegate and guest speaker. Sue will be speaking at Creative Connections on Thursday 30th November.‘
Dunedin has huge strength in our arts and literature communities. I am really looking forward to seeing what other Creative Cities are doing to make creativity central to their city-building aspirations.’
Sue started working in local government in Waitakere, Auckland, in 2005 after some years working in central government, primarily as a researcher, policy-maker and operations manager in the Ministry of Social Development.
Her career has included time in the not-for-profit sector, and in the public sector. She has lived and worked in New Zealand, the USA, South Africa and the UK.
Prior to being appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Dunedin City Council in November 2013, Sue was the General Manager for Services and Development at Dunedin City Council.
She completed her undergrad study at the University of Otago in 1992 and also attained her psychology doctorate there.
Sue has a passion for local government, and for promoting the ethics of public service. She was a New Zealand non-governmental delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women and Children (CEDAW).
Sue is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Dunedin City Council.
Creative Connections aims to explore creativity as the touchstone of healthy, sustainable communities and celebrate the power of collaboration to inspire.
