Do you have memories to share about the Dunedin City Library?

How good is your memory? We're celebrating the 40th birthday of the current Dunedin City Library building by inviting you to share your memories of the Library with us.

We have opened up the community portal of our Scattered Seeds archive, so you can contribute your memories, photos and documents to help us write the story of Dunedin. The history of the Library is our first project. It's easy to join our community team - just register with your name and email address so we can follow up with you if we need more details about your story or donation: https://dunedin.recollect.co.nz/nodes/view/214090

Do you have pictures of the build in progress? Do you have fond memories of the old libraries on the other side of Moray Place and in Stuart Street? Do you remember what it was like the first time you walked into the new library on the Plaza? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

You can learn more about the history of library services in Dunedin from our newly-launched timeline, taking you from the arrival of the first books on the Philip Laing to the present day: https://dunedin.recollect.co.nz/nodes/view/214035

We'll be adding to the history as more stories emerge.
