All 11 Cities of Literature were represented at the IXth annual meeting of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network meeting in Kanazawa, Japan.
The newest Cities of Literature–Dunedin, Granada, Heidelberg and Prague–were welcomed to the recent UNESCO Creative Cities Network [UCCN] meeting in Japan. In 2014, UNESCO welcomed 28 new cities from 19 countries to its Network. The UCCN comprises 7 fields: Crafts & Folk Art, Design, Film, Gastronomy, Literature, Media Arts, and Music. The UCCN aims to strengthen cooperation with, and among cities that have recognised creativity as a strategic factor in sustainable development.
