‘He Autaia, He Ātahu - Strangeness and Charm: Album Cover Art in Aotearoa’ runs throughout May and looks at some of the extraordinary images that adorn recordings in Hocken’s music collections.
Ideas of strangeness and charm, the mundane and the imaginative, are shown through cover art that reveals how artists wish themselves and their work to be viewed, or the stories they are telling to be visualised.
