Posted: Friday May 17, 2024

Applications close Sunday 2 June 2024

The New Zealand Young Writers Festival (NZYWF) – proudly produced by Dunedin Fringe – welcomes young writers (aged 15-35) of all kinds to celebrate a diverse range of wordsmithing including slam poetry, playwriting, songwriting, short fiction, novels, zines, screenwriting, poetry, journalism, blogging, critical content creation, podcasts, review writing, and more. The festival is by young writers, for young writers.

2024 is the festival’s 10th birthday! It takes place from Thursday 12 - Sunday 15 September 2024

They are looking for a passionate, energetic writer to be this year’s festival Guest Curator, who will develop three events to be presented in the festival. They will also advise on the selection of events from a public call for presenters, and provide some production and marketing support to the festival.

They highly encourage Māori and Pasifika writers to apply, and writers from other historically excluded communities.
