Readers of Dunedin, was conceived by with a photo-blog in mind: a mash-up between the widely popular Humans of New York photo-blog and public book reviews, to get an idea of what people in our newly honoured City of Literature are reading. Here is our first Readers of Dunedin Reader!

One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Bronwyn: It’s about a hundred years in the life of a very small settlement in the steamy and dangerous South-American jungle. It’s full of magic realism, it’s really beautiful writing, and it’s quite delirium-inducing. To be honest I’ve read it quite a lot – it’s my favourite book! But every time I read it, I feel like I find something new. It’s just incredible.

This book is available to purchase from the University Book Shop, or you can borrow it from Dunedin Public Libraries.
