The Wallace Arts Trust Internship Programme 2020-2021 is now calling for applications from students or recent graduates for a short term, paid internship with the Wallace Arts Trust. The aim of the programme is to provide a valuable opportunity for young arts professionals to obtain work experience in the arts industry.
The Wallace Arts Trust Intern takes on the role of a Gallery Host who is the first point of contact for visitors to the Wallace Arts Centre, Pah Homestead. You will help to create a warm and welcoming environment, engaging in conversations with visitors about the Arts Centre and current exhibitions. Jointly with Wallace Arts Trust staff, you will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the collection, visitors and the building.
You will have the opportunity to get an in depth understanding of the organisation by hearing from our Curator, Events and Marketing Coordinators, Loan Manager, Exhibition Technician and Education and Public Programmes Manager. Additionally, you can choose to take part in an exhibition planning project which may be selected to be exhibited at the Wallace Arts Centre in 2021.
Successful applicants will be genuinely interested in conversing with visitors and learning about the Arts Centre, the collection, and the history of Pah Homestead. The commitment is 8-12 shifts of 4.5-6.5hours for the period 9 December 2020 to 2 February 2020, dependent on the number of successful applicants. Though short holidays can be accommodated, priority is given to applicants with the most availability over that period.
A letter of participation will be issued to interns on completion of the programme.
